Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed the reason why Kevin De Bruyne did not play in the win over Brentford on Tuesday night.

De Bruyne was only named as a substitute in the opening Premier League match against Brentford and was not sent on the field at all despite the team needing a goal. And had to wait until the 71st minute to unlock it from Erling Haaland’s shot. 

During the warm-up before the game The Belgian international also did not appear for the extended stretch alongside the rest of the squad. and didn’t go down to warm up during the game either

After the game, Pep revealed the reason De Bruyne was on the bench throughout the game because he had a hamstring injury. and didn’t want to take the risk after just returning from a long break 

Pep said: “We didn’t use Kevin because he had hamstringitis. He’s OK, but we have to be careful and take precautions first. We don’t want to risk it after he’s been out for five months.” โปรโมชั่น ufabet

Manchester City will next play against Bournemouth on Saturday, February 24. Before the FA Cup battle, visit Luton Town next week.

The 32-year-old missed the first half of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during City’s Premier League opener against Burnley in August. He returned to action in the new year in an FA Cup third-round clash against Huddersfield. Since coming back from his injury, the Belgian has provided four assists in the five Premier League games he has played.
